Between Observation and Abstraction

My Landscape painting – a continuous process in which color, line, and structure merge into independent pictorial worlds.

My painting moves within the tension between observation and dissolution. The landscape serves as a starting point, which I do not understand as an exact representation, but rather as an impulse for a free interplay of color, line, and structure. Spontaneity, intuition, and a deliberate loss of control are central elements of my artistic process, through which figurative and abstract aspects of the image interpenetrate.

I am particularly fascinated by the changing seasons with their constant shifts in color and structure. I am interested in the interaction of color, surface, form, and texture. In my work, landscape, drawing, structure, and color exist on equal terms and condense into independent, semi-abstract pictorial worlds of nature.

My painting is a continuous process of experimentation and discovery. I often work in series to explore how a motif can be further developed in terms of composition and painterly expression. In my work, I combine drawing-like, graphic elements with painterly ones, color with line, as well as figurative with abstract forms.

I am particularly drawn to the moment when new and exciting paths emerge, giving rise to fresh painterly impulses.
